Regulation

Article 1 – Organization
The City of Gaeta and Gaeta Handball 1984 ASD, in collaboration with CUS Cassino and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, organize the XXXVII CALISE MEMORIAL and the 25th Calise Cup, a stage of the European Beach Handball Championship (EBT – European Beach Handball Tour).

Article 2 – Location of the Tournament
2/1 – The Tournament will take place at Spiaggia di Serapo on lidoes Arena Beach, Miramare, Aurora and Serapide, Via Marina di Serapo – Gaeta, from June 12th, 2026 to June 14th, 2026;
2/2 – The Organizer can change the date and venue due to externals.

Article 3 – Aim of the Tournament
3/1- The aim of the Tournament is beach handball promotion and its popularization among the young categories. At the end of the Tournament, the three best-placed teams in all categories will be announced, the same as the best players (left wing, right wing, specialist, goalkeeper, defensive player, pivot) in senior competition. Article 4 – Categories
4/1 Categories are:
A – Senior women/men;
B – Veterans (35 years and over);
C – Youth women/men;
C1 – Under 18 (born 2008 and over);
C2 – Under 16 (born 2010 and over):
C3 – U14 (born 2012 and over);
C4 – U12  / U10 (born 2014 and over).
4/2 -A single group of players cannot participate in two categories (matches will not be moved).

Article 5 – Tounament Organization
5/1 – The tournament will be played according to the schedule determined by the Organizer in the agreement with the main referees and head delegate of the Tournament..
5/2 – All inquiries related to the schedule and game times should be sent via email from the team manager until the official schedules are published;
5/3 – A maximum number of 12 (twelve) players per team can play during the Tournament;
5/4 – The competition will start by group stages;
5/5 – Teams will be ranked based on points earned. If two or more teams have a tie, they will be ranked in the following order:
* higher number of points obtained in the match(es) played among the teams in question;
* higher period difference in the match(es) played among the teams in question;
* higher goals difference among the teams in question;
* higher number of goals scored in the match(es) played among the teams in question;
* higher number of goals scored in all matches.
If this procedure does not lead to the final rank list of group, the same will be decided by a draw.
(“Teams in question” shall mean the remaining teams for which the ranking could not be established based on the previous ranking criteria)
5/6 – After the group stages, teams will continue with the knockout phase where we will be able to declare the winners of the Tournament;
5/7 – The organizer keeps the right to modify or change the tournament format;

Article 6 – Matches rules
6/1 – All teams have to wear sportswear adjusted to competition and according to the IHF beach handball rules, which has to be in a unique color with printed numbers. In the case where both teams have the same sportswear, team B should change theirs.
6/2 – Team can register up to 10 (ten) players and 2 (two) officials for every match and in addition 2 (two) referees for youth categories;
6/3 – All matches will be played regardless of weather conditions, following the Fair play principles, the basic rule of beach handball;
6/4 – Before the match, each team will show the referees 2 balls (so, 4 in total, i.e. 2 per team) and both teams, together with the volunteers, will be responsible for their own 2 balls for the entire match;
6/5 – All matches shall be played in 2 periods and, according to the official Rules of the Game, each period is scored separately;
6/6 – If the result is even in the end of a period, the winner is decided with a “Golden Goal” method (the winner of that period is the team that scores the first goal);
6/7 – If each team wins a period, the result is a tie. In that case, the winner is decided with a “Shootout” method (“One player against the goalkeeper”);
6/8 – Winner of the each match gets two (2) points, while the defeated team gets zero (0) points, both for 1:2 and 0:2 defeat;
6/9- A team that does not appear in the match will be punished by –1 point.

Article 7Rules and proposal of the tournament for Mini Beach Handball, Ultimate Beach Handball, Under 18 Male, Under 16 Male and Senior Categories
7/1 – All matches shall be played in 2 × 10 10-minute periods. Due to higher circumstances, match time can be shortened (match options are 2 × 7.5 min, 1 × 10 min, and maximally 2 ×5 min).

Article 8Rules and proposal of the tournament for per le youth Categories (they apply to Under 2012, 2014 e 2016)
8/1 -Participants who will play for teams applied in the junior category need to take a valid identity card that confirms their age;
8/2 – All matches shall be played in 2 × 7 minute periods. Due to higher circumstances, match time can be shortened (match options are 2 × 7.5 min, 1 × 10 min, and maximally 2 ×5 min)..

Article 11 – Behaviour rules
11/1 – Each participant who comes to the Tournament and is a part of it as a player, referee, delegate, team official or competition organizer has to be physically and mentally prepared and in possession of a medical certificate for competitive activity;  
11/2By submitting and signing the list of participants, the team leader assumes responsibility for ensuring that the above is respected;
11/3 – All participants to this competition do it voluntarily and on their own responsibility;
11/4 – Participants are not further insured with insurance companies;
11/5 – The Organizer is not liable for any personal injuries as the result of the participation before, during or after the Tournament, because the team manager has voluntarily accepted these conditions in the name of all team member;
11/6 – It is not allowed for participants to be influenced by alcohol or any other substance during the match;
11/7 – Referees and delegates, together with the Organizer, can forbid appearance on the match or the whole tournament to some player or the team on their subjective judgment;
11/8 – If something unwilling happens because a player or the team appeared while they were influenced by alcohol, the whole team and all its members can be punished and they are entirely responsible for their behaviour;
11/9 – Each participant of the event takes full responsibility for any damage caused by him/her to the property of the Organizer or the third party (eg. the hotel, B&B and apartments where the participants will be accommodated;
11/10 – The Organizer has the right to exclude with immediate effect any participant, who violates the public order or whose behavior hinders or prevents from conducting the Tournament or who threatens other participants or the Organizer.

Article 12 – Complaints
12/1-In all matches of this Tournament, the grounds for protest are not valid if they relate to:
A – date and time;
B – court and draw of the match;
C – appointment of referees and delegates;
D – referee decisions on facts in accordance with the Beach Handball Rules.
12/2 – Protests can be announced orally to the EHF delegate of the match immediately after the end of the match. The reasons for the protests shall be handed over in written form within 30 minutes after the end of the match. At the same time a protest fee amounting to 400 € has to be paid;
12/3 – If the protest is accepted, the protest fee will be refunded to the appellant; otherwise, the Organizer keeps the full amount of the protest fee;
12/4 – The EBT Delegate and the Organizer will decide whether the complaint is admissible. Otherwise, the Organizer will retain the entire amount;
12/5 – Anything not provided in these Regulation will be decided by the Organizer based on the Rules of the Game, which can be consulted at the following address: https://www.ihf.info/sites/default/files/2019-05/0_09 – Rules of the Game %28Beach Handball%29_GB.pdff

Article 14 – Various issues
14/1 – We kindly ask each participant to respect, together with competition spirit, the Rules of the Game and in that way contribute to the successful development of beach handball.l.
14/2 – We wish you a pleasant stay, good fun and a successful ranking for all participants. The Organizer has the right to explain, change and add the Regulations.
14/3 – These Regulations were accepted at the meeting of the Organizing committee, which was held on the 15th of November, 2025 and are valid from that date
