La Triestina is a historic bar, ice cream parlor, and restaurant in Gaeta, located in Piazza della Libertà. For over sixty years, it has been considered a true symbol and point of reference for the entire community and tourists.

The establishment opened in the late 1950s as a bar and ice cream parlor, quickly winning over the Gaeta residents with the artisanal quality of its products.

The milk used to make their ice cream is exclusively fresh and locally produced.

Lactose-free ice cream is also available, made exclusively with water, fresh fruit, and sugar.

Although the ingredients have remained the same for 60 years, new technologies are enabling the production of healthier ice cream that can satisfy the largest possible number of customers. This has included a dedicated area for semifreddos with different textures, as well as granitas with their inimitable flavor.

The history of the business is inextricably linked to the founding family, initially led by Raffaele and his wife Giovanna. Management was later passed to their son Gianluigi, a cornerstone of the establishment, who has successfully kept the family tradition alive.

The venue stands out for its large outdoor space, shaded by mature trees and adorned with water features, originally featuring a historic compass rose fountain.

In March 2017, the venue was completely renovated to modernize the space and expand its culinary offerings.

Today, La Triestina Gaeta is more than just a café and ice cream parlor, but also a renowned meeting place for traditional aperitifs and a restaurant specializing in fresh fish and traditional Mediterranean pasta dishes.
